email@example.comI am Tony Munsterman, music teacher for Campbell-Tintah Public School. I have been teaching music for 26 years, with my first teaching assignment in 1984. French horn and guitar are my two primary instruments . I have done extensive singing throughout my career (primarily with church groups.)I graduated from Augsburg College, Minneapolis, Minnesota with honors (cum laude) and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education. After 12 years of teaching, I attended St.Cloud State University, St. Cloud, Minnesota for a Masters in Conducting. My wife, Brigitte (trombone player, singer) works for Northern Contours in Fergus Falls, MN. My children Bailey (sophomore-piano, bass guitar, french horn, singer,) Christa (7thgrade-clarinet, piano, saxophone, singer) both attend Campbell-Tintah Public School. My son, Alexander (french horn,bass guitar, singer) will soon return to college, majoring in computer science and participating in college music groups.In 1979 I was accepted for the Minnesota Music Educators Association All State Band. In 1998 I was accepted as assistant principal horn for the College Band Directors National Association Honor Band. I have worked with marching bands, jazz bands, taught music theory, music history, history of rock and roll, supervised student teachers, taught summer lessons, taught string lessons, directed flute choirs. I have frequently conducted pit orchestras for musicals. I have directed church choirs, bell choirs and church brass groups. I have directed and played with numerous community bands. I have judged large group and solos and ensembles contests. I have occasionally acted in plays throughout my career.
For the 2011 through 2013 years I was the president of the Southwest Minnesota Band Director’s Association (MBDA.) Prior to that I was secretary of SWMBDA and had performed the duties of section coach on several occasions.
I will again be teaching general music to the students in grades K-6. I will be directing the 5th and 6th Grade Bands. I will be conducting the High School Band,High School Choir and the Jazz Band.
