Campbell-Tintah STEM Students Tour
Com Del Innovations
Com Del Innovations hosted teacher Mr. Richard Osman’s STEM students for a plant tour of their facilities in Wahpeton, ND.
Injection Molding was a high light of the tour where students saw how a product is made that is used in the paint industry. A part manufactured for the X Box also caught the attention of many of the students.
Com Del employees explained that they can take an idea from Concept, to Planning, to Design, to Modeling, to Prototype and finally manufacturing all in this Wahpeton facility.
Students spent time in the Computer Aided Drafting department and got to visit with engineers and support staff. They explained how the CNC mills are setup and programed. How robots were added to the production lines and how they are used. Students got to see all this equipment working up close as they walked through the plant. It was brought up to the students that many of the jobs and careers options available at Com Del could be achieved by taking related course work at NDSCS.
The students and staff of Campbell-Tintah schools would like to extend a thank you to Com Del Innovations for taking an interest and helping out by providing a tour of their manufacturing plant.
Campbell-Tintah STEM students spent a day touring manufacturing plants and the Southeast Career and Technical Center in Wahpeton, North Dakota as part of a career awareness program through the Business/Technology and Career Counseling departments.
This tour was sponsored by the generous support and contributions provided by the Tri-State Manufactures Association.Updated 5\23\2016
